Top Shanghai Tours-My Reviews on Jade Buddha Temple Shanghai

All the monks and nuns China tours are very friendly and helpful. we love this temple and it is the temple where my new husband used to attend as a young boy. so we decided to have a small wedding ceremony in their kwan yin temple on 12-30-12. the temple has (volunteer) wedding coordinators and they are AMAZING at their volunteer jobs! we werent sure what to expect seeing as how we kind of made up our own thing as we went along the planning process. even at the rehearsal the day before we were a little lost it was kind of humorous- but all we had to do was tell them what we wanted and they made it happen!!!

The kwan yin temple is small it seats about 50 people, our guests kneeled on cushions, we had groomsmen and bridesmaids kneel with us up front as we exchanged vows and our matron of honor helped us with the tea ceremony. the Venerable Jan Hai gave a great service in mandarin and had an english translator. another Yangtze River cruises monk and nun volunteered to sing the song of blessing and play the instruments. it was glorious to say the least! the sheer beauty of the ceremony made me cry because it was so happy! everything went smoothly and setup and clean up was fast and the music we chose was played to our liking by the sound technician volunteer. it was perfect. i will dream about this for the rest of my life. and now we plan to attend the chinese lunar new year in february. i look forward to becoming a part of this temple for a very long time.

Shanghai Tours-Travel Reviews of Oriental Pearl Tower

The views from the Tower are China tours so great, and the best part is the glass (or acryllic) walkway partform around the sphere 200 meters above ground. really worth it!

although this is not the tallest building in Shanghai, it is still charming and attractive, up the top level of the tower you could see thousands of modern design buildings all over, it shows prosperity, the structure of this tower is nice looking although it has been built some 18 years ago, really a must visit place for tourists. Cannot retreat from the wow Yangtze River cruises factor as you approach the tower.

Shanghai tours

Particularly at night from the Bund esplanade on the opposite river bank, the Oriental Pearl is a gem of a view with all the tower blocks and neon light show. Our first trip was at the start of Golden Week,a public holiday period and queues at the gate were in the thousands. Visitors Shangri-la adventure need to pick a work day as we did later when access is quite good and not crowded. Quite daunting looking up but awsome viewing from the top platform 351metres off the ground. Only downside for photos was outside glass gets mist and grime and inside has finger prints everywhere so best shots are from outside areas and river and building make spectacular photos with high polution days spoiling shots across the city.

The skyline around the Pearl is worth a trip to Shanghai and far and away surpasses anything we saw in Beijing. The tower was worth the visit. We loved the views, the frightening glass floor experience and the fun spiderman 'building' where people could take photos looking like they were spiderman. My 70 year old mum was hilarious hanging from one of the windows. Don't bother with the 'space capsule' which is on the highest level, its not worth the extra expense as you don't get good views and you wear very Shanghai travel silly shoe covers.

Reviews on Touring the Bund-Shanghai Tours of China

The area was drab grey and dismal, China tours buildings were not outstanding. Why this is top of the list in Shsnghai I do not know unless you want to come to China and walk along a sterile westernised waterfront. This is def not the real China!

The Bund has an amazing collection of old colonial style building constructed 1890 - 1930 , with some great Art Deco architecture. The Peace hotel on the corner of Nanching Road is certainly worth going in , just to see the art deco elegance. Certainly Yangtze River cruises not crowded on a normal work day. This is a fabulous place to take pictures. Do the night cruise if possible, amazing scenery, a definite must see.

Shanghai tours

During the day we saw the skyscrapers across the river. It was National holiday so it was 5 times busier than Wembley on cup final day. Do not come here then as you cannot move. We had 30 - 40 minutes here and travel to Shangri-la spent 25 - 35 minutes stood against the railings as we got fed up with the crush.

The evening on a river tour was much better. You could see the Bund was still packed but the boat was not. The skyscrapers do look good all lit up but then don't all skyscrapers around the world. Take a chilled out walk along the waterfront at night and see the amazing light show on the buildings, it's a must see in shanghai and it's free, which in china is China tour almost unheard of!!

Basic Info of Yu Garden-Shanghai Tours

The Yu Garden, or Yu Yuan, is the China tours garden, to visit while in Shanghai. This may not mean that much since it is the only Chinese classical garden that I know of in the city. Compared to the famed gardens of Suzhou, Yu Yuan is massive. It is in fact several gardens rolled up into one. A visit involves strolling around a labyrinth of small gardens filled with ponds, pavilions (30 in all) and rockeries. The whole complex is surrounded by a dragon wall.

The Yu Yuan was constructed between 1559 and 1577 by a local official Pun Yunduan in honour of his father Yu Yuan. As the garden is so large it is easy to get lost. The best way to approach a visit without losing yourself is to enter by the Yangtze River cruises main entrance and to proceed clockwise from garden to garden. I felt that this made my visit very satisfactory. Another important note about your visit to the Yu Yuan is that it is very popular with tourist hence very crowded.

Thankfully that garden is so large that you can avoid the crowds during some of your visit. Personally I was surprised by how much I enjoyed the Yu Yuan. Although it is not superior to the Classical gardens in Suzhou in any noticeable way, I enjoyed the Yu Yuan more. Perhaps it was because the whole concept of the Chinese classical garden was growing on me or maybe it was because for the size of the complex, I felt Shanghai tour package that I was getting more bang for my buck. Whatever, I would not leave Shanghai without a visit.

The Yu Yuan is open from 8:30am to 5pm, daily. It costs Y30 for a Shangri-la travel visit.
